Makindye Grade one Magistrate Jude Muwone Okumu has directed Kitalya and Kigo Prison authorities to release Nigerian singers Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi aka Tems and manager Muyiwa Awomiyi after Ugandan state prosecutors withdrew charges against them.
The order comes a day after the same magistrate remanded Omah Lay and Awomiyi to Kitalya Prison, and Tems to Kigo Prison over an illegal concert at Ddungu Resort Munyonyo at the weekend.
They were expected in court on December 16 for trial for doing acts likely to spread an infectious disease, contrary to section 171 of the Penal Code Act.
