UPDF Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abbas Byakagaba to arrest columnist Nicholas Sengoba.
Sengoba’s articles appear in a column in The Daily Monitor, a leading independent daily that President Yoweri Museveni, Muhoozi’s father, has previously criticized for pushing the ideas of foreign agents, of telling lies and of being an evil paper.
Muhoozi described Nicholas Sengoba as an idiot and accused him of severally abusing him in his articles in the media.
The first son seeks to investigate the people behind the articles that Sengoba writes. He has given the IGP, Byakagaba, a week within which to arrest Sengoba.
If he fails to arrest Sengoba within a week, IGP Byakagaba might suffer consequences, according to a message shared online and attributed to Muhoozi, who is also his father senior advisor on special operations.
“Ndugu, IGP, there is an IDIOT called Nicholas Sengoba. He always abuses me,” the message attributed to Gen Muhoozi read.
“I want to know ALL those behind his articles. If he is not arrested and secured by next week. There will be questions to answer!”
It should be remembered that Gen Muhoozi previously threatened to arrest a fellow general, former deputy CDF Peter Elwelu, for reportedly hiding behind his father as an advisor. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
