Singer Sylver Kyagulanyi: How God Miraculously Healed Me When All Hope Was Gone

Ugandan musician, producer, songwriter and lawyer Sylver Kyagulanyi has shared a testimony of how God healed him when he had become lost hope.

Sharing his new song titled ‘nkulinze okole’ (loosely translated as ‘I am waiting on you to work’),Sylver Kyagulanyi says the song is a powerful testimony of his pain, despair and his healing.

“[The song] was born from a season of deep struggle in my life — literally crying as I sang the words,” said Kyagulanyi.

He talked of his struggles with migraines and sinusitis. Sylver Kyagulanyi says that even when he tried the best ear, nose and throat specialists, his condition did not get better.

“For 15 long years, I suffered from debilitating migraines that made many days and nights unbearable. Then four years ago on top of the migraines, I developed sinusitis, and no matter what treatments I sought, the condition only worsened,” the singer shared.

“When a highly regarded E.N.T. expert stopped responding (in a way of there is nothing more I can do for you) it felt like a final blow; it meant there was no hope left for me.”

Soon, Sylver Kyagulanyi started to gasp for breath, and most of his favorite foods became triggers for migraines, limiting his menu.

“As my Sinusitis escalated, I started hearing alarming sounds in my lungs-crackling and whistling and could not move many paces without gasping for breath. My world had become a nightmare,” he noted.

“The list of foods I could comfortably eat dwindled to almost nothing-lemons, ginger, rosemary, and most spices that I liked were all triggers for migraines. I felt helpless and afraid, wondering why the God I serve had not healed me.”

It was in this situation that he decided to surrender to God who gave him healing, making him rejoice in the gift of salvation.

“However, in the depths of my despair, I wrote the song ‘Nkulinze Okole.’ This song became my cry of surrender to God, where I laid down my frustrations. It was through this heartfelt expression that I experienced His healing,” he shared.

“Miraculously, both my migraines and sinusitis have vanished. More importantly, I am no longer afraid. I can now revel in the joy of my salvation and embrace the life God has graciously given me.”

Sylver Kyagulanyi now hopes that some people will be touched through ‘Nkulinze Okole,’ a song he wrote when he was sick.

“With this release, I pray that the anointing to heal flows through this song. May it touch hearts and break chains of prayer-resistant diseases. My prayer is for God to take away any fear of illness and bring healing to you as well,” he prayed.

“As Scripture says in Psalm 103:3, ‘He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.’ May this be a reminder of His mighty power to heal and restore.”
