President Yoweri Museveni
State House, through deputy presidential press secretary Faruk Kirunda, has spoken out on reports that President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni recently appointed new officials to various positions.
On April 01, there were some claims that President Museveni appointed MP Abdu Katuntu as the justice and constitutional affairs minister.
The justice and constitutional minister position is currently held by Muruli Mukasa in acting capacity. Muruli is also the minister of public service. (Read Story Here).
According to Kirunda, Museveni has not made any new appointments in the past few days.
The deputy presidential secretary says reports of appointments that circulated on April 01 were just Fools Day pranks.
“The General Public is hereby informed that H.E the President has not made any new appointments of public officials in the last few days,” said Kirunda.
“What circulated yesterday, April 1, were Fools day jokes.”
The most recent appointments Museveni’s office announced were those of Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Resident City Commissioners and their deputies. (See List of New RDCs, RCCs and their deputies HERE).
