One of the police officers who perished in an accident at Magamaga.
Two Police officers and a suspect died in a July 02 accident at Magamaga Trading Center along Iganga-Jinja Highway.
Police say the accident happened at around 5am.
A statement from the Uganda Police Force (UPF) said a silver Toyota Premio registration number UBF 837K had collided with a trailer Reg No.KCQ 638C /ZC 738 Foton.
The clash resulted in a side brush with a Police vehicle number UP 7483.
All the three occupants in the police vehicle died on spot.
They are two officers and a suspect.
The officers are D/AIP Emmanuel Mawa and D/ Sgt Dick Magara of of the General Crimes Unit at CID headquarters.
The suspect was Phillip Wadambwa. The officers were escorting him.
By publication time, police had taken their bodies to Jinja Referral Hospital for postmortem.
Busoga regional Police spokesperson ASP James Mubi said investigations to establish the cause of the accident have started.
