UBC Journalist Reportedly Fired for Embarrassing PM Nabbanja by Leaking Viral ‘Eby’okwogera Bimbuze’ Video

Reports coming in suggest that a journalist working for state broadcaster Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) could have been fired over a leaked video in which Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja confesses she has run out of words to explain the current fuel crisis.

The journalist reportedly fired has been identified as Ivan Kaahwa.

The station is said to have relieved Kaahwa of his duties for outing a video that went viral and ’embarrassed’ the prime minister.

Sources have been quoted as saying that the journalist received his sacking letter on January 21.

Kaahwa had interviewed the prime minister for an exclusive, and was expected to cut out the ’embarrassing’ part and bin it.
