Uganda’s national army the UPDF has announced a nationwide recruitment of Local Defence (LDU) personnel.
According to UPDF spokesperson Brig Flavia Byekwaso, the exercise will start on August 23 and end on September 16.
The UPDF has tasked those interested to submit byheir handwritten applications to the office of their respective Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) between August 23 and August 27.
Byekwaso says the applicants must indicate the nationality, age, marital status, and education.
The applicants must also attach copies of national identity card, academic credentials.
To prove that their good conduct and that they have no criminal record, the applicants must also attach a letter of recommendation from the LC 1 or GISO.
The army has also insisted that the applicants must be Ugandan citizens aged between 18 and 29 years, medically and physically fit.
On academic qualifications, the applicants must hold a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
