You’re an amateur in forgeries: Don Wanyama accuses Bobi Wine of forging ‘fake’ Museveni-Lumumba letter on plot to win elections at all costs

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s senior press secretary Son Wanyama has accused National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine of forging a letter alleged to have been issued by ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman to secretary general Justine Kasule Lumumba.

In the suspicious letter, the crafters make it appear like Museveni is worried that the NRM might lose parliamentary seats to the opposition.

A fake Museveni-Lumumba letter Don Wanyama accuses Bobi Wine of forging.

The forged letter also talks of a clandestine plan to support NRM candidates and party-leaning independents to help them win 11th Parliament seats at all costs – failure of which the country might be ungovernable.

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s senior press secretary Son Wanyama has accused National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine of forging a letter alleged to have been issued by ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman to secretary general Justine Kasule Lumumba.

Now, Wanyama says “Bobi Wine and team are getting desperate” to divert the public ahead of the 2021 elections.

“These are amateurish forgeries. Anyone who knows Museveni’s communication standards, will quickly see the fakeness. Importantly, all party matters are communicated on “NRM Chairman” letterhead not State House. Poor try,” the senior press secretary mocked Bobi Wine.

Wanyama added that he “thought anyone reading this document would not even need explaining to know its fake.”

“All the hallmarks are there, especially if you have bothered to follow President Museveni’s communication standards, both as President and NRM party leader.”

He further blasted Bobi Wine and main opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye for sharing the fake letter on their social media channels.

“That was until I saw the supposed two main opposition leaders publish these on their official platforms. New media comes with lots of advantages but there’s a big downside in form of misinformation/disinformation and malinformation,” noted Wanyama.

“But I thought for people aspiring for the highest office in the land, at least due diligence would be a standard, or are they so desperate that anything that comes their way and has ‘Museveni’ and seems negative is swallowed minus checks?”
