The names of students admitted to Lira University on government sponsorship under the national merit scheme have been released.
The list was approved by Lira University Academic Registrar Geoffrey Angela and Senate Chairperson Dr Andrew Ojulong.
Students were admitted on courses or academic programs like Bachelor of Science in Community Psychology and Psychotherapy, Bachelor of Science with Education (Agriculture), Bachelor of Science with Education (Biological Sciences), Bachelor of Science with Education (Economics) and Bachelor of Science with Education (Physical Sciences).
Others were admitted for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Midwifery Science, and Bachelor of Public Health.
The university says that admitted candidates can start picking their admission letters on Monday, June 01, 2026.

Every year, Government of Uganda sponsors about 4,000 students to pursue different academic programs or courses at public universities.
But over 70 per cent of those scholarships have been reserved for science-based courses or academic programs.
Apart from Lira University, other public universities include Kabale University, Mountains of the Moon University, Makerere University, MUBS, Gulu University, Kyambogo University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Muni University, and Soroti University.
