Stray elephants have invaded villages in Mitooma District in Western Uganda. Locals say the elephants stole their alcohol during the invasion.
The incident happened in the villages of Kanyehikire, Kahesha and Omukabanda.
The elephants destroyed gardens of beans as well as banana and sugarcane plantations.
Locals said they were living in fear of more attacks by the elephants.
They say they have no capacity to deal with the elephants yet these animals have continued to destroy their gardens.
That Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has not helped them despite the several complaints they have made regarding attacks by the elephants.
They are worried that if UWA does not take immediate action to protect villages from raids by elephants they will keep losing their crops and living in fear.
